Management on the Ocean Patriot, a Diamond Offshore Drilling (DODI) semi-submersible rig has confirmed Geo Therm Ltd are to perform the rig-wide electrical biased Thermographic Survey. The survey is to start in February, week 6. Since arriving to the UKCS in 2014 the Ocean Patriot has worked for the oil major Shell.
The Thermographic Survey is undertaken to comply with DODI’s electrical preventative maintenance requirement, as stipulated under the comprehensive operating document: Global Excellence Management System (GEMS) to identify temperature deficiencies in electrical distribution systems that may interrupt operational efficiency.
The Ocean Patriot is a 3rd generation Trosvik Bingo 3000 design, built at the LA Seyne shipyard in southern France. It has a IMO #8753469 and an ABS Classification. The rig can accommodate 120 personnel, operate at water depths up to 3,000 ft and drill down to approximately 25,000 ft. This is Geo Therm Ltds’ second thermographic survey on this impressive rig.
