Rig management aboard the VALARIS JU-291 (Stavanger), a heavy-duty ultra-harsh environment jack-up has awarded Geo Therm Ltd offshore inspection services with its forthcoming electrical and engine exhaust thermographic survey inspection.

The JU-291 is a 2011-built jack-up rig is of Keppel FELS N-Class design and can accommodate 140 people. The rig’s maximum drilling depth is 35,000 ft and was formerly known as the Rowan Stavanger.

The offshore thermographic inspection is penned to begin in the third quarter of 2024, during operations with Total Energies. The survey will help support the rigs annual preventative maintenance electrical regime. This will be Geo Therm Ltd’s first visit onto the JU-291 with the work scope expected to take one week to complete.
